Research

I am broadly interested in biogeography and ecophysiology. Namely, how do physiology, phenotypic plasticity, and local adaptation help species live where they do. I have a particular interest in species with broad geographical ranges and invasive species and how they survive in various habitats. Likewise, I am interested in how global change (climate change and urbanization) is reshaping the landscape of the earth and changing species distributions. Studies of ecophysiology in the context of global change are not only applicable to conservation but gives the opportunity to study how quickly or slowly species can adapt and the trade-offs required to do so.
